Lebanese Immigrants in Canada
In 2023, 4.5K Lebanese were admitted to Canada as permanent residents

From 2010 to 2023, a total of 33,132 citizens from Lebanon were admitted to Canada as permanent residents.
In recent years, Lebanese immigration to Canada has seen a notable increase, driven by Lebanon’s ongoing economic crisis, political instability, and the devastating 2020 Beirut port explosion. According to the 2021 Canadian census, approximately 210,000 Canadians claimed Lebanese heritage, reflecting a rapid growth in this demographic. Many Lebanese nationals have sought permanent residency through programs like Express Entry and Provincial Nominee Programs, particularly in Quebec and Ontario, where over 70% of Lebanese Canadians reside. Canada has also introduced temporary immigration measures, such as fee-exempt work and study permits for Lebanese nationals in Canada and their families fleeing conflict, especially since September 2024, amid escalating tensions involving Israel and Hezbollah. These measures, effective until July 31, 2025, aim to provide safety and stability for those unable to return to Lebanon.
