Indian Students in Canada
In Canada, the number of international students* increased 105% from 172,370 in 2004 to 353,272 in 2015.
During this period, international students came to Canada from more than 170 countries, and India was the second largest source country since 2012.
In Canada, the number of Indian students increased 630% from 6,675 in 2004 to 48,730 in 2015.
From 2004 to 2015, most Indian students chose Ontario (68%). British Columbia attracted 16%, followed by Alberta and Quebec 5% each. Other provinces attracted all together only 5%.
Compared to 2004, most provinces saw an increased number of Indian students in 2015 except for New Brunswick. The top increases were registered in British Columbia (923%), Ontario (679%) and Manitoba (476%).
