Canada Immigrants by Province (2021 Census)
According to the 2021 Census, 8,361,505 foreign-born people resided in Canada which accounted for 23% of Canada’s population.
In 2021, nine out of ten immigrants resided in Ontario, British Columbia, Quebec and Alberta.
Ontario was home of 50% of the foreign-born population in Canada.
In 2021, 17.1% of the foreign-born population resided in British Columbia, 14.5% in Quebec, and 11.6% in Alberta.
BACKGROUND
Statistics Canada reported that in 2016, there were 7,540,830 foreign-born people living in Canada, which accounted for 21.9% of Canada’s population.
