Living in Canada – Businesses falling down in Canada
Would you be surprised if I told you that the first to complain over the reduction in the number of immigrants are not potential immigrants, but the big businesses that get rich from them? That’s right, in this video we will see how many businesses benefit and fight for the government to bring more immigrants to Canada.
As is known, the government announced a reduction in the number of migrants in its three-year migration plan due, mainly to the fact that bringing in too many has generated terrible economic and social problems. The arguments to justify this reduction were the following.
1. The Gross Domestic Product has fallen since the economy didn’t grow as much as the population.
2. Immigration puts a strain on existing services and infrastructure such as educational services, health services, transportation, etc.
3. Housing prices (if you haven’t seen how the housing problem is in Vancouver and Toronto, I recommend you watch Episode #3)
4. Immigration can increase poverty by lowering wages for native-born workers and by immigrants themselves often being poor.
And, as expected, not everyone reacted in favor of reducing immigration levels, but there were also those who opposed it.
That’s right, the main opponents were the “educational institutions” and immigration lawyers, as well as the provinces and organizations supposedly supporting immigrants who receive financial support from the federal government.
It is worth clarifying that this is not the first time that these groups, organizations and institutions have protested when the number of permanent and temporary immigrants is reduced, including students; they have always done so.
As for the immigration lawyers, they immediately responded, through the Canadian Immigration Lawyers Association by condemning the immigration levels reduction.
Colleges and universities spoke out against it, saying that their profits would collapse, that they would have to close some educational centers since they would lose 300 million dollars contributed by foreign students in the first year and 600 in the following year.
Regarding educational institutions that include dubious schools, technical schools and universities, it has been reported in the Canadian media how they have had to cut programs, staff and everything due to the lower number of international students they are receiving.
They openly declare that it is international students who keep these institutions afloat with lavish profits.
Here, for example, we are seeing how its profits will be reduced by 300 million dollars this year and 600 million next year.
What is this due to? Well, on the one hand they bring hundreds of thousands of foreign students and on the other hand, the tuition fees for these are much higher than for Canadian students, as shown in this table that can be found on our website canadaimmigrants.com
It is worth asking ourselves two things
The first one is to see if Canada’s educational model is meeting the needs of Canadians or those of the businessmen who have made education a real and lucrative business.
The second is to eliminate immigration brokers, at least in Canada, since they also operate outside of Canada so that the abuse of immigration programs by these immigration agents and the provinces decreases.
