In Nova Scotia, the foreign born population increased 23.2% from 45,190 in 2006 to 55,675 in 2016.

In Nova Scotia, the largest immigrant populations were from the United Kingdom, the United States, China, Germany and the Philippines; together they accounted for 48% of the foreign-born population in this province.
