Canada Immigration 1852-2015

Immigration to Canada has experienced periods of boom and bust. These were largely driven by the world and Canada’s own situation. In the period from 1852 to 2015, Canada registered the largest annual intake of 400,870 immigrants in 1913 and the lowest of 6,276 people in 1860. The data also shows that Canada received an annual intake of more than 250,000 immigrants fourteen times.



Note:

The birth of Canada as a nation, took place on July 1, 1867. Originally, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Ontario and Quebec formed the Canadian Confederation. Currently, Canada is composed of ten provinces and three territories.
