In 2011, the immigrants comprised 20.6% of Canada’s population; one in five people were immigrants.

The number of immigrants from Viet Nam increased 11.3% from 148,400 in 2001 to 165,125 in 2011.




In 2011, 96% of Vietnamese immigrants resided in four provinces Ontario (48.2%), Alberta (16.5%), British Columbia (15.8%) and Quebec (15.7%).

In 2011, Toronto was home to 54,495 Vietnamese immigrants.

Citizens from Viet Nam landed in Canada in recent years

From 2006 to 2015, 22,272 new permanent residents from Viet Nam landed in Canada.
